Bio
Guillaume Cliche is a Montreal-based artist and composer. He is particularly interested in real-time procedural creation. His work relies on energetic contrast in order to provoke explicit perceptual oppositions. Therefore, his projects mix hard and chaotic moments with more minimal and hypnotic sections.
Cliche graduated from the Montreal Conservatory of Music and has a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts at UQAM. He has worked in the field of contemporary dance with the choreographers Manuel Roque, Noam Gagnon and more recently James Viveiros. He is also part of the following groups: Paysage primitif, Cliche/d'Orion, Transparente and GGROUNDD.
His music can be heard on record labels such as Kohlenstoff and Mickroclimat. His work has recently been presented at FIMAV (Canada), Mutek (Canada), Transart (Italy) and Node (Germany).
